“Sugar” & Spice Dip & Tea {Sugar-Free}
I recently had to come up with a healthy snack for my daughter’s girl scout troop, which has just started the “Healthy Living” program. In addition to exercising more, the girls are learning to make healthier eating decisions. So, when it was our turn to host snack time, I came up with this sugar-free fruit dip. I, however, prefer it as a dip or spread for grain-free graham crackers or grain-free muffins.
And since I’m an avid tea-drinker, and I love flavored teas, I decided to try it as my creamer one day and it was DELISH! I blend my tea, a dollop of dip, and some sweetener in my Magic Bullet. It’s creamy and foamy and very flavorful. I’m sure it would taste great in coffee, too!
Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons sugar-free maple syrup
- sweetener equal to 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon*
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg*
- 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice*
- (*or 1 teaspoon apple pie spice in place of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice)
Directions
Blend all ingredients together with a hand mixer until light and fluffy.
Use as a dip for fruit or graham crackers.
Use as a creamer by putting a dollop in your tea or coffee and blend (my Magic Bullet works great at this).
Store in refrigerator.
