Cinnamon Apple Crisps
This simple little snack or side dish is very satisfying. To keep these as crisp as possible, store in a covered glass container (not plastic). However, they are best eaten soon after cooking. They are a great on-the-go snack and also good for car rides.
Great little gluten-free snack. Wheat-free, grain-free, low carb.
Ingredients
- apple
- cinnamon
Directions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
Slice apple as thin as possible. Spread onto a baking sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake for an hour or so, checking often for desired crispness.

Gorgeous!! (And definitely plant-based–LOL!!)
Thanks, Ricki! And thanks for featuring me on your FB page!
I’m so excited to link up with you!
So glad you did link up! I am trying these chips for sure–what a great, healthy snack!
These look delicious. Thanks for sharing at The Gathering Spot. I’ll be trying these for sure
I’ll have to try your method. I’ve tried doing these before and they either end up squishy or burnt
Perhaps I didn’t have the heat right and didn’t have the patience to wait long enough to cook it slowly on low heat!
Danielle, please let me know how they turn out. I haven’t had any trouble with these…I do keep an eye on them, and a couple of the skinnier ones might end up burnt (I cut them by hand so they aren’t all the same size), but overall the batch turns out good.
Yum! What kind of apples did you use? Do you think any kind would any work, or would a baking apple be better?
Thanks for sharing on Eat Make Grow!
I usually use red delicious, but I’m sure it would work great with other apples, too.
Delicious! My kids LOVE raw apples with cinnamon sprinkled on top. I’d probably steal your idea, but use my dehydrator instead. Thanks!!
I’m sure these would be great in a dehydrator. If I had one, I’d be trying that method, too!
I started dehydrating apples this year with just a splash of lemon juice. My husband raves about them! It is about the only food that he and I agree on that we both love! Pinning!
Jen, thanks for the tip about the lemon juice…I’ll have to give that a try!
I’m stopping over from Pennywise Platter Thursday. I love drying apple slices in my dehydrator. This looks great with adding cinnamon. I’ll have to give it a try!
I recently launched a new real food blog carnival called Fill Those Jars Friday. I’d love to have you come stop by and share this on it: http://toomanyjarsinmykitchen.com/2012/09/13/fill-those-jars-friday-september-14-2012/
See you there!
Mindy
I love raw apples but hubby doesn’t. I bet he would love them like this though. SO trying this!

So simple — love it!
This looks good, I might try to do this in the dehydrator instead of the oven. I love apples and cinnamon.
What a gorgeously simply, yet oh so delicious, healthy snack! Love the photographs!
What a lovely and frugal snack. I am featuring this post on my H &S Hop highlights tomorrow.
Thank you! I’ll be sure to stop over there!
